The Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) is a state regulatory authority responsible for monitoring, regulating, and developing technical and vocational education in Bangladesh at various levels, including Secondary (SSC Vocational), Higher Secondary (HSC Vocational), 4-year Diploma in Engineering, 4-year Diploma in Agriculture, and 4-year Diploma in Medical Technology. Established in June 1969 under the Ministry of Education, the board seeks to ensure quality, standardization, and relevance of technical education across the country.

The key functions of BTEB include setting curricula, developing learning materials, granting affiliation to technical and vocational institutions, regulating student admissions, conducting examinations, and awarding certificates and diplomas. The board also formulates policies on admission criteria, supervises and monitors affiliated institutions, and implements quality control measures.

BTEB governs competency-based training and assessment, recognizing prior learning and aligning qualifications with the National Technical and Vocational Qualification Framework (NTVQF). It establishes data management systems for affiliated institutes and collaborates with various industry skill councils to assess labor market demands and design responsive curricula. The governance of BTEB is vested in a Governing Body consisting of representatives from government divisions, technical education directorates, universities, and industry bodies.

The headquarters of BTEB is located in Dhaka, with regional and branch offices across Bangladesh. The board continually updates its regulations and frameworks to align with technological advancements and emerging industrial needs. BTEB is instrumental in advancing TVET in Bangladesh by maintaining standards, ensuring quality, and facilitating access to technical education for economic development and social inclusion
