Islam Pracharak was a historic monthly Bengali magazine founded in September 1891 (Bhadra 1298 in the Bengali calendar) in Kolkata, India, under the editorship of Muhammad Reazuddin Ahmad. It was a significant publication for the Bengali Muslim community, aimed at promoting Islamic principles, cultural identity, and social reform through the Bengali language.

The magazine initially published for two years until 1893 and then resumed publication in August 1899, continuing for nine more months until April 1900. Its tagline was ‘মুসলমানদিগের ধর্ম্ম ও সামাজিক বিষয়ক মাসিক পত্রিকা’ (A monthly magazine on religious and social matters of Muslims).

The editorial in the first issue highlighted the lack of Islamic religious texts in Bengali, which contributed to a decline in Islamic consciousness among Bengali Muslims. To address this, the magazine sought to promote Islamic teachings in Bengali, making religious knowledge accessible to a wider Muslim audience.

Islam Pracharak focused on ten key areas, including countering the perceived superiority of Christianity and Brahminism, publishing Islamic legal rulings (মসলা-মসায়েল) in Bengali, critically examining deviant local customs and rituals, highlighting Islamic history, translating the Quran into Bengali, and elaborating on the lives and teachings of prominent Islamic figures. Through these efforts, the magazine aimed to foster a stronger, informed Islamic identity among Bengali Muslims.
