Prof. Dr. Md Abu Raihan is a renowned TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) expert and professor working in the Department of Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur, Bangladesh, which is under the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). With over 22 years of experience, his expertise spans education technology, STEM education, curriculum development, teacher training, AI-based education, leadership, and management development programs.
Prof. Raihan has served as the Head of the TVE Department at IUT (2018-2021) and has been a key resource person and trainer for numerous national and international TVET projects, including collaborations with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Asian Development Bank (ADB). He has contributed extensively to TVET reforms in Bangladesh and other countries and has been involved in training over 2,000 teachers in engineering technologies and TVET pedagogy.
His research interests include competency-based training, e-learning, flipped classroom models, MOOCs, and hybrid pedagogy, with a strong focus on entrepreneurship education. Prof. Raihan has published over 41 journal articles and 40 international conference papers and supervises PhD and MSc students from OIC member states, highlighting his international academic influence.
He is also actively involved in professional bodies such as the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB), UNESCO-UNEVOC e-Forum, and International Society for Development & Sustainability in Japan, reflecting his leadership in advancing TVET education globally. Prof. Dr. Md Abu Raihan has played a vital role in shaping TVET policies, curriculum frameworks, and capacity-building initiatives in Bangladesh.
