The Music Composers Association of Bangladesh is a professional organization formed to unite music composers and music directors across the country. The initiative to establish such an association was taken by the late eminent music director Azad Rahman, who sought to address professional challenges faced by composers and advocates their rights and interests. The association brings together renowned composers and music directors, with leadership including notable figures such as Sheikh Sadi Khan as convener.

The association aims to combat various issues in the music industry, including intellectual property rights protection, royalty distribution, and enhancing the professional status of music composers in Bangladesh. It serves as a platform for collective action and dialogue among music creators, providing a stronger voice within the industry and to policymakers.

In parallel, organizations like the Bangladesh Lyricist Composers & Performers Society (BLCPS), founded in 2013 and government-licensed in 2014, also play a crucial role in protecting the copyrights and royalties of songwriters, composers, and performers, underscoring the growing institutional support for music creators in Bangladesh.

Together, such bodies reflect the ongoing effort to organize and professionalize the music creator community in Bangladesh, fostering an environment that recognizes and respects the contributions of composers in the nation’s vibrant musical landscape.
