RFL started as a foundry business in 1980, manufacturing irrigation pumps and cast iron products to support farmers’ irrigation needs. The company later diversified into plastics, light engineering, and household products.
PRAN-RFL has a strong presence in domestic and international markets, exporting to over 145 countries worldwide. It has contributed significantly to Bangladesh’s socioeconomic development by supporting agriculture and rural economies, creating jobs, and promoting dignity and self-respect among farmers and workers.
The conglomerate also operates in property development and industrial manufacturing, with a modern management approach tailored to the local environment. The current CEO is Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, son of the founder. PRAN-RFL has ambitious goals to double its export earnings by 2025 and achieve USD 2 billion by 2030, reflecting its significant role in Bangladesh’s economy.
