The Waggachhari is a tributary of the করনফুলী (Karnafuli) River, located about 12 km from Kaptai along the Kaptai-Chandraghona road in Bangladesh. It runs nearly parallel to the Silchhari and Baraichhari rivers, and is also almost parallel to the Baraichhari-Ghagra road. Geologically, the area around Waggachhari exposes rocks from the Boka Bil Formation, specifically the Wagga Sandstone unit. The Karnafuli River itself is the largest and most important river in the Chittagong region and the Chittagong Hill Tracts, originating in the Lushai hills in Mizoram state, India, and flowing approximately 180 km through mountainous terrain before reaching the Bay of Bengal. The river’s course near Waggachhari is notably straight, likely due to a geological fault influencing the channel from Prankiang to Waggachhari along the Kaptai-Chandraghona road ওয়াগ্গাছড়ি
